Margaret Elaine (Mullins) Chattin, 86, residing in Sandusky, passed away Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024, after a brief illness.
Elaine was born Nov. 2, 1937, in Port Clinton, to Leroy and Elsie Belle (Matthews) Mullins.
Elaine graduated from Sandusky High School in 1955. She was employed as a cook at Sands Diner and several other restaurants for several years. Elaine was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed volunteering at the Erie County Senior Center gift shop and later the thrift shop.
Elaine is survived by her daughters, Ricketta Waitman of Leola, Pennsylvania, Suzzanne (Kenneth) Ridenour of Bedford, Kentucky, and Sandi (Amos) Zimmerman of Leola, Pennsylvania; sons, Frederick (Sherry) Chattin of Newark, Ohio, Mike (Mary) Chattin of Akron, Donald (Chris) Chattin of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Lawrence (Rachelle) Chattin of Frankfort, Kentucky; 24 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Tom) Garard of Sandusky; brother, Frank (Terri) Murru of Smyrna Beach, Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elsie Murru; husband, Frederick Chattin II; husband, Charles Bolyard; brother, James Mullins; sister, Lylia "Bonnie" Wilson; and granddaughter, Jennifer Neal.
A private family graveside will take place at a later date.
Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory will be assisting family with arrangements.
