Margaret Jean "Margie" Gochenour, 76, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 6, 2024, after a short stay in hospice care at Westlake Health Campus in Commerce Township, Michigan.
Margaret was born Nov. 14, 1947, in Newark, New Jersey, to Frederick Koch and Jean Koch. She moved to Ohio in 1968 where she spent her career of more than 25 years working for Sandusky City Schools.
She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Dudek; daughter, Joanne M. Kitzler of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; sons, Kenneth (Roschele) Buraszeski of Lexington, South Carolina, Frederick (Stacy) Buraszeski of Waterville, and Gary (Michelle) Gochenour II of South Lyon, Michigan; stepdaughters, Ann (Matt) Gunzenhaeuser of New Albany and Mary Gochenour of Springfield, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren, Todd Allen (Madison) and Alayna (Joanne and Todd A. Kitzler Sr.), Thomas (Kenneth and Roschele), Conner, Alexandra, and Cameron (Frederick and Stacy), and Sydnee, Jaxson, Tatum, and Gaige (Gary and Michelle).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Jean Koch; husband, Gary Gochenour; and special cousin, Joanne Padula.
Margaret and Gary loved boating on Lake Erie and spent their summers perch fishing and taking the occasional trip to Kelleys Island and Put-in-Bay. She was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and spent time playing cards, board games, and enjoying time with her dog, Daisy, while birdwatching from her backyard. Margaret was a supporter of many causes including St. Jude and ASPCA.
As per Margaret's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.

So sorry for the loss of such a wonderful woman. I loved me some Gary & Margie Gochenour´s & Daisy . I meant Gary jr at sawmill & shared some wonderful memories of them. Rip Margie till we meet again!! You will be missed by many!!
