Margaret "Peggy" (Lester) Kuhl, 83, residing in Sandusky, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at Stein Hospice Care Center.

Margaret was born June 5, 1940, in Sandusky, to John Leo and Esther (Saxer) Lester.

Margaret lived in Castalia until she was three years old and moved to Sandusky in 1943. She attended grade school at St. Peter & Paul School and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in 1958. She married her husband of 56 years, David T. Kuhl, on June 27, 1959. Together, they moved to Huron-Avery Road in Milan. Margaret was a secretary for St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Milan for 37 years. She also was employed at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Norwalk for three years and also worked at Mark's Grocery Store in Sandusky from 1954-1960. Margaret was a member of the X-checker card club since 1965. She enjoyed her family and friends, playing cards, and traveling.

Margaret is survived by five children, Diana (Jim) Stubbs of Palm Desert, California, Kimberly (Roger) Jackson of Bluffton, South Carolina, Marilyn (Jim) Day of Canton, Michigan, Scott (Mary) Kuhl of Milan, and Dale (Jessica) Kuhl of Wilmington, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Lauren (Patrick) Glasson, Davis (Molly) Day, Theodore Day, Courtney Kuhl, Cari (Austin) Shafer, and Melissa Kuhl; great-grandchild, David Glasson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Theodore Kuhl in 2015; sisters, Mary Catherine Lester and Gloria Vaughn; brother, Earl Lester; in-laws, Theodore and Mary Kuhl; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Maria Ackley.

Visitation for friends will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 430 Main Street, Huron, with Father Doug Garand presiding. Family burial will follow Friday, April 19, 2024, at Scott Cemetery, Huron.
