Sun City Center, FLMarie Perkins Cucco Vetter, a shining beacon of creativity, joy, and unwavering love, passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, just one day shy of her 93rd birthday.
Her life was a masterpiece painted with laughter, kindness, and love that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Marie was born Aug. 7, 1930. Her creative spirit blossomed early on. She could transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, leaving behind a trail of beauty and laughter. Her resourcefulness knew no bounds and she was a master at finding solutions to life's challenges with grace and ingenuity.
Marie's joyful and loving nature made her a cherished friend, devoted partner, nurturing mother, and grandmother to her children and chosen family. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and acceptance, where she welcomed everyone with open arms.
Marie is survived by eight children, Larry Cucco, Linda (David) Wolaver, Lillian (Laura) Cucco, Douglas (Jennifer) Vetter, William (Debbie) Vetter, Walter Vetter, David (Hyang) Vetter, and Brenda (Jeffery) Whitacre; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Cucco; husband, Robert Vetter; long-time companion, Arthur Slack; brother, Edward Perkins; sister, Luella Fryberger; and parents, Donald and Marguerite Perkins.
Her memory will be carried forward by each generation, a testament to the love she bestowed upon her family.
Marie's life will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 7. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. at Camden Township Cemetery, 49840 Route 20,
Oberlin, Ohio, 44074. A celebration of life luncheon will follow immediately at Camden Township Community Hall, 50679 Route 303,
Oberlin, Ohio, 44074.
Instead of flowers, the family requests donations to Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Marie's legacy of creativity, joy, resourcefulness, and boundless love will forever illuminate the lives of those she leaves behind.
