Marjorie M. (Friend) Solander, 94, of Arizona and formerly of Bellevue, passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023, in Chandler, Arizona.
She was born Aug. 13, 1929, in Bellevue, the daughter of Irvin and Margaret (Callaghan) Friend.
Marjorie was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, St. Christopher Study Club, the Altar Rosary Society, and Ohio Literary Club. She was a graduate of St. Vincent's Mercy School of Nursing and was employed as a registered nurse at The Bellevue Hospital for many years.
Marjorie married George W. Solander on Oct. 6, 1951, in Bellevue, and he preceded her in death in 2018.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Marshall of Phoenix, Arizona; son, George C. (Rebecca) Solander of Sycamore; grandchild, Kathryn Marshall of Phoenix, Arizona; and sister, Carolyn J. Nieset.
Marjorie was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Amy Solander; grandson, C. Lance Marshall; and an infant son.
Visitation for friends will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center Street, Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.

Who in Bellevue/Flat Rock didn't know Marge? She was a great lady and a friend to many. She was a stalwart nurse at the Bellevue hospital. God please rest her soul. RIP
