Mary Alice Boos, 81, of Sandusky, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023.
She was born May 20, 1942, in Huron, to Albert and Margaret Schenk. She married Carl A. Boos on Aug. 5, 1962.
Mary was born to be a mother. She loved what she did and truly enjoyed providing a happy household. She always put others before herself and that could be seen in everything she did. No matter how full her plate was or how packed her schedule was, she would always find a way to make time for family.
Mary was a proud mom and a true midwest woman. She was raised on a farm in Huron by two loving and hard-working parents. She never forgot the sacrifices her family made to help her achieve her life-long goals and always beamed with pride when speaking of them. In her early years, she enjoyed being with friends, spending time at the family farm where she was raised and above all, being together as a family. Mary touched so many lives. She gave so much, showering them with warmth and affection that those connections will never be forgotten. Mary will truly be missed by many.
She is survived by her sons, John Schenk and Aaron (Megan) Boos; stepsons, Kyle Boos and Kevin Boos; sister, Kathryn "Kate" Wagner; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers Robert Schenk, Albert "Bung" Schenk, and John "Chuck" Schenk; and sisters, Ruth Likes and Margaret "Dolly" Ommert.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, until the time of Mary's memorial services at 2 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky. Pastor John Adams will preside.
