Mary (Schaefer) Morrow, 84, of Huron, passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2022.
Mary was born in Westphalia, Missouri, to the late Leo Schaefer and Frances (Wiegers) Schaefer.
Mary went to St. Louis to attend nursing school at St. Johns. She then headed to Los Angeles, California. That is where she met the love of her life, John Morrow. Together, they raised their family while she worked as operating room nurse in several big hospitals.
After living in California for approximately 40 years, she and John moved to Huron in 2004 so they could be closer to their son and grandchildren.
Mary was often seen at the library, as her passions were reading, gardening, bird watching, and quilting in which she was active member of Huron St. Peters quilting group.
Mary is survived by her son, Matthew (Kathy) Morrow; grandchildren, Joseph Morrow and Sara Morrow, both of Sandusky; daughter-in-law, Heather (Campbell) Morrow of Altadena, California; sister, JoAnn (Dan) Meara of Kansas City, Kansas; sister-in-law, Janie Schaefer of Westphalia, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John Morrow; son, Daniel Morrow; daughter, Elizabeth Morrow; and brother, Leo Schafer.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, at St.Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main Street, Huron, Ohio. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron.
