MaryLou (Michel) Linkenbach, 89, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at her residence.
MaryLou was born November 26, 1936, in Sandusky, to the late Ralph Michel and Mary (Hritsko) Michel.
MaryLou graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1954. She was employed as an LPN at Providence Hospital from 1953-1980. She also operated her painting business, MaryLou's Painting, from 1980-2014. MaryLou was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and crocheting.
MaryLou is survived by her daughters, Diane Martin Linkenbach, Julie (Tony) Kaman, Michelle Corrick Linkenbach, Ann Sharkey Linkenbach, Kristie (Chris) Shinski, and Sheri Linkenbach; sons, Karl (Elly) Linkenbach, Greg (Debbie) Linkenbach, Jeff (Cheryl) Linkenbach, and Scott (Sara) Linkenbach; sister, Carol (Donald) Francis; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, MaryLou is preceded in death by her husband, Karl Linkenbach, in 1988; infant children, Michael and Lou Anne Linkenbach; sister, Virginia McGlone; brothers, Frank and Ralph "Butch" Michel; and grandson, Levi Farrington.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2026, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home Tuesday January 20, 2026, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky, with the Rev. Prashanth Kumar presiding. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Sandusky.
