Matthew J. Faulkner, 49, of Fremont, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio after a lengthy illness. He was born Sept.17, 1975, on the Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the son of Danny and Marla (Crecelius) Faulkner. He was a 1995 graduate of Margaretta High School.
For the past 13 years, Matt worked as a tow motor driver at Autokineton in Bellevue. He had a passion for his motorcycle, was an avid New York Giants fan, and deeply cherished his family and friends.
Matt is survived by his wife, Leigh Ann Faulkner, Fremont, whom he married Jan. 11, 2011, in Columbus; children, Kelsey (Steven) Johnson of Massillon and Kailey (Daniel) Hatfield of Castalia; stepchildren, Skylar Mynarsky of Port Clinton and Brody Baker of Fremont; brother, Marc (Stacey) Faulkner of Surprise, Arizona, three grandchildren, Liam, Levi and Brinley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Danny and Marla; maternal grandparents, Jacob (Erva) Crecelius; and paternal grandparents, Vane (Alice) Faulkner.
A celebration of life will take place from 11-2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, at Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 1515 Cedar Point Drive, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.

Marcus,im so very sorry to hear about matt. i had no idea that he was sick. all i can say is that i have always loved your whole family and will always cherish the wonderful memories we shared together.your parents were so much fun.i know that matt was way to young to leave all of you,but your parents and our lord have him to hold now.please send my condolcences to stacey and his precious kids and grandchildren and to your own.again, im so sorry. i love you. ill always keep the memories close. love,misty.
