Maurice L. Blakely
Sep 12, 1976 - Mar 11, 2023
Sandusky
Maurice L. Blakely, 46, of Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic surrounded by his loving family.
Maurice was affectionately known as "Snookie" or "Moe Blakley" to his family and friends. He was my love bug, so full of love. Maurice was born Sept. 12, 1976, in Sandusky, to the union of Manuel and Loveonia (Monegan) Blakley. He attended Sandusky City Schools.
In his past times, Maurice loved to travel, go fishing, grilling, swimming at the beach, and talking on the phone, no matter what time of day or night it was. Moe also loved his music, whether rap, gospel, or contemporary, as long as it was music with a beat he liked.
Later in life, Moe relocated to Palm Beach, Florida, then to Albuquerque, New Mexico, with his elder brother, "Pook." While in New Mexico, Moe was a manager at Applebee's.
Moe was a very creative young man. He loved to take things apart just to put them back together. He was a jack of all trades, though he did master a few. Maurice was employed at Texas Roadhouse, Sandusky, for the past seven-plus years, calling his co-workers his other family.
Maurice is survived by his loving mother, Loveonia Monegan; stepfather, Raymond Mitchell; daughter, Sharvele Siddel; brothers, DeMarius Monegan and Corey Blakley; sisters, Katrin Blakley and Sheria Monegan; extended brothers and sisters, Edward Alexander, Curtice Kent, K'Shun Turner, Anthony Stanford, Terrance Brown, Carla (Willie) McCarty, Trinnette Kent, Lacrecia Alexander, and Niki Alexander; special nephews, Antwuan, Troy, Tyre, DeVonte', Adonis Monegan, LeAndre', and Dominque Blakley; special nieces, Todae', Chyna, Destiny, and Aqeelah; aunts, Terry Kinnard, Helen Qualls Delphine Prophet, Nora Monegan, Maggie (Jewel) Haralson, and Linda Monegan; special uncle, Ernest (Perceil) DeLaine; the two Live Sunnyside Acres Crew, Lionel Stovall, Jamal Combest, Toby Miller, Eddie Wimbley, Shonsa Seavers, Antwuan Grant, Dashun Ferrell, Orlando Pace, Fred Collins Jr., Willie Porter, and Desmond Philon; special companion, Virgina Seitz; mother of his daughter, Kim Siddel; and host of other friends and relatives.
