Maxine Morrison Obituary

Maxine Morrison

Mar 31, 1940 - Feb 21, 2025

Port Clinton

In the early morning hours of Friday, February 21, 2025, our dear mother and grandmother, Maxine Lemaster Trent Morrison, passed away peacefully at Magruder Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Maxine, a 15 year resident of Edgewood Manor in Port Clinton, lived to the age of 84 after a long, harrowing battle with several health challenges. Despite these challenges, Maxine was brave and placed her trust in the palm of her beloved Jehovah's hand, granting her to live on her own terms until she took her final breath and was welcomed to her new home with open arms of boundless love and joy, leaving behind all of her worries and pain.

Maxine was born in Salyersville, Kentucky. She spent her childhood years in Wayland, Kentucky, where she was a cheerleader and a straight-A student. She and her family moved to Port Clinton, Ohio, where she met the love of her life and father of her children at the age of 15, whose hometown happened to be the same area. To attest to her beauty, the story goes that when he first laid his eyes on her sunbathing in her yard as he rode past on his bicycle, he lost control of the bike and crashed into garbage cans. The rest is history; they married and raised three children together. Though they divorced after 20 years of marriage, they always remained loving friends.

Maxine took pride in her appearance. She was creative and artistic. She loved sewing, tatting, crocheting, and making jewelry. She always looked beautiful. Maxine also enjoyed reading, writing poetry, and painting. She crocheted beautiful blankets for all of her children and grandchildren that we all still cherish. Maxine was passionate about music; she played the guitar and made lessons available for her children. She also spent several years as a country western singer in a band, which she enjoyed every moment of.

Maxine was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was accepting of everyone, loving unconditionally, and offered her wisdom and support whenever called upon. Her invaluable lessons have left an indelible imprint on our hearts and minds. Her pride and joy were her three grandchildren, who she absolutely adored. Her greatest accomplishment was her family, and we will dearly miss her for the duration of our lives until we can be united again.

Maxine is survived by her daughter, Madonna Trent (John) Fong; son, Jon (Gail) Trent; and three grandchildren, Travis Trent, Cole (Gabriela Toscano) Trent, and Courtney (Trevor Beck) Trent.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Maxwell Howard and Mahala Meade Hicks; the father of her children, Billie Don Trent; and her beloved son, Derek Alan Trent.

There will be no services at this time, per Maxine's wishes. Donations in memory of Maxine can be given to Edgewood Manor or Magruder Hospital Foundation.
