Michael Earl Gregory "Mike" Bettis, 61, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 11, 2024, at The Toledo Hospital.
He was born Feb. 11, 1963, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mike worked for many years at GM in Wentzville, Missouri and moved his family to Sandusky in 1993 when the plant closed. He remained employed by GM (New Departure/Delphi) until his retirement. Mike's love for his family was as big as he was. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
Mike is survived by three children, Jeremy (Ashley) Bettis of Castalia and Jennifer (Mike) Schonhardt and Michael (Jessica) Bettis, both of Sandusky; eight grandchildren, Gabriel Bettis, Kaeley Schonhardt, Destiny Bettis, Kamryn Schonhardt, Mikey Bettis, MJ Schonhardt, and Landen and Nolan Bettis; brother, Jim Cook of St. Peters, Missouri; sister, Beth May of Overland, Missouri; great-aunt, Jenny (Tom) Burbank; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was greeted at the gates of Heaven by his parents, Earl "Jack" and Desiree Bettis; sister, Michelle Ankoviak; Grandma Goldilocks; and special aunt, Debbie Randazzo.
Mike's life will be celebrated twice, first in Sandusky from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Shoreline Park, and then in Overland, Missouri from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Woodson Park gazebo.
Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.
