Sandusky

Michael "Mike" Boyd Lippert, 85, residing in Sandusky, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Michael was born March 10, 1940, in Tiffin, to the late Paul and Ruby (Abel) Lippert.

Michael graduated from Green Springs High School in 1958. He was a veteran of the United States Army who proudly served his country from 1958 to 1962. He was employed as a medical technologist at Firelands Regional Medical Center for many years. Michael was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and American Legion Post 83. Mike had a heart for both children and his community. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf. He shared his love of sports by serving as a co-founder with Tom Beverick and coach of St. Mary's Grade School wrestling program, coaching AMVETS Little League baseball team with his friend, Kenny Steffenhagen, where they hold the record for the most Little League World Series titles. Deeply rooted in his faith, he also taught P.S.R. (Parish School of Religion) at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Beyond sports and teaching, Mike gave generously of his time, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and the Community Supper.

Michael is survived by his wife, Jeanette Lippert, whom he married in 1992. He is also survived by his children, Paul (Julie) Keech, Mark (Pamela) Keech, David (Kathy) Keech, Diane Fortin, Sharon (Russell) Dickman, James (Kay) Brengartner, and Steve (Shelley) Brengartner; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Carolyn Bliss; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Snyder; his two brothers, William and John Lippert; and grandson, Christopher Michael Keech.

Friends may call from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky.
