Michael J. Pepon, 94, a lifelong resident of Marblehead, OH passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 9, 2023. He was born June 30, 1929 in the old Marblehead Hospital, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Capko) Pepon. He was a 1948 graduate of Lakeside High School at which he played football, basketball and ran track. He married the late Beautrice Ann Lewitzke on April 25, 1953. They enjoyed 69 years of marriage. Mike was employed by Lafarge Quarry for 35 years and a member of United Steel Workers. He was a volunteer of the Marblehead Fire Department for 50 years. Mike was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served as a greater, usher and took collection for over 50 years, a member of Knights of Columbus and social member of VFW. He was an avid blood donor, sometimes traveling to hospitals in need of his rare blood type. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, ice fishing, golf and nature. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Guardians and The Ohio State Buckeyes. His family and friends will fondly reminisce his selflessness, unwavering kindness and joyful sense of humor

He will be remembered lovingly by his daughters: Carolyne Geisman of Sandusky, Janet (Duane) Kluding of Norwalk; grandchildren: Kate Geisman, Kristen (Patrick) Zuchegno, Kristina Kluding, Kelsey (Ricardo) Ramos; great-grandchildren: Alexis and Kingston Baer, James and Lane Zuchegno, twins Remington and Rosalee Ramos. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Beatrice; twin brother: Joseph Michael Pepon; sisters: Anna (Charles) Myers, Alice (Joseph) Cander, Marion (Robert) Bird and Elaine (Anthony) Kuznik and son-in-law: James C. Geisman II.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Joseph Szybka 10:00 am Saturday, August 12, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay St. Marblehead, OH. Visitation will be held at the church Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Marblehead, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Danbury Township Fire and Rescue, 7870 E. Harbor Rd. Marblehead, OH 43440.
