Michael Dean Toney, 66, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Lakeland, Florida, Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
Michael was born October 8, 1958, in Norwalk to Jackie Dean Toney and the late Shirley Irene Toney (Witter). He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1977 and later earned an associate degree in business. He worked as a warehouse forklift driver in various cities, including Sandusky, Columbus, Dallas, and Lakeland.
A fan of the Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, and Ohio State Buckeyes, Michael was a whirlwind of energy in his youth, made friends easily and was always up for fun and adventure. His greatest joys were running, biking, fishing, swimming, listening to classic rock music and attending live concerts.
Michael is survived by his life partner, Rhoda Riley of Lakeland, Florida; father, Jackie Toney of Coral Springs, Florida; sister, Michelle Toney of N. Lauderdale, Florida; her children, Katie Toney of Pembroke Pines, Florida, and Kara Lane (Toney) of Newark; and grandsons, Jasper Dean Toney and Leo Emery Lane.
