Mickey J. Okasinski (nee Phillippi), 73, of Milan, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, at Kingston of Vermilion after a long illness.
She was born Jan. 7, 1951, in Michigan. She moved to Milan in 1983 and spent most of the last 40 years there.
Mickey was an eternal optimist with a passion for living life to the fullest. She not only enjoyed riding motorcycles and flying airplanes, she did so for the friendships and laughter. Mickey made friends easily and was always looking to put a smile on someone's face. Mickey was a loving Nana, always with toys and games at the ready for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved mother, Jacquelyn (nee Fruehauf) Phillippi; children, Joseph (Amy) Okasinski of Wakeman, Ami Okasinski of Memphis, Tennessee, Michael (Sakshi) Okasinski of Woodway, Washington, Jennifer Lambert of Athens, Ohio, and Lisa (Thac Nguyen) Okasinski of Grosse Pointe, Michigan; cherished grandchildren, Logan, Elizabeth, Hunter, Trenton, Knox, Miles, and Julian; and dear brother, Dennis (Liby) Phillippi of Wisconsin.
Mickey was preceded in death by her father, Dwain Phillippi; and brother, Robert.
Mickey's celebration of life will be at a later date to honor her memory and the love she shared with those around her. If you would like to attend Mickey's celebration of life, please text or call Lisa Okasinski at 419-239-3346 for details.
