"Fear eigi andlát, fyrir hourinn ór þinn doom er setja, ok nei einn megescaper þat!"

Mitchell Tod Johnson, 56, affectionately known as "Smurf'n-T" and well-known in Sandusky's role-playing gaming community as "Count Bif Riprock the Völsung, Imperial Marshal, Ranger Lord & Demon Slayer descendant of Thor," passed away peacefully at his home after a long illness.

Mitchell is survived by eight children, Ryan Carter, Jasmine N. Carter-Johnson, Anthony T. Carter-Johnson, Siquoy L. Phillips, Cortez I. Taylor, Irinjanaa J. Taylor, Laurana A. Johnson, and Johnny E. Johnson; 11 grandchildren, Myah Adams, Kempton Carter, Zuri Carter, Ryu Carter, Zaria Dewey, Cyrus Aeshelman, Charlotte Price, Ivory Taylor, Syahir Carter, Sae'lynn Davidson, and Sa'Nyliah Davidson; three brothers, Eric Davidson, Andrew "Chuck" Johnson, and Allen Larkins; sister, Michelle Tate; and the love of his life, Geneva.

Born and raised in Sandusky, Mitchell graduated from Sandusky High School in 1986. He was a familiar face at Marco's, where he served as a trainer and manager for almost 20 years. Mitchell earned a degree in Electrical Engineering and worked at Sandusky Electric until its closure. He then worked at Ventra Sandusky and was a proud member of UAW Local 1216. Mitchell was known in Sandusky as a consummate helper who could fix anything. He was a handyman to anyone in need, supporting widows and orphans without hesitation. Friends and family often said "He would give you the shirt off his back." Mitchell had a passion for Japanese anime and was an avid Dungeons & Dragons player since 1978. He also leaves behind his 1st/2nd ed AD&D group of Mica, Kane, Eltan, Aragorn, and sometimes Wings, where Bif will continue his mission.

Mitchell's celebration of life memorial BBQ will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2024, at the downtown Sandusky park near the pavilion.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral as Mitchell was cremated. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

I will always remember "Tod" as my nephew that had a big heart and got his ability to repair things from his father. Besides living with me on two occasions Tod was always a willing participant in helping others. Rest in Peace my dear nephew.
