Monika A. Cooper, 84, residing in Sandusky, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 9, 2023, at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
Monika was born Oct. 29, 1938, in Blankenhagen, Germany, to Lieselotte H. (König) Korff.
Monika moved to the United States in 1964. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing and she loved to read. After her retirement, Monika enjoyed traveling with her daughter and was blessed to have the opportunity to make such special memories.
Monika is survived by her daughter, Katja J. (Mike Mascarenas) Cooper of Sandusky; sister, Andrea Korff of Berlin, Germany; and special relatives of Katja, Kimberly Cooper of Sandusky and her son, Joseph (Di Woolfenden) Simon of Toronto.
Monika was preceded in death by her parents; son, Darren Cooper in 2014; and children's father, Daryl Cooper in 2008.
As per Monika's wishes, cremation will take place. A private celebration of life will be at a later date.
Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, Sandusky, is assisting family with arrangements.

Monika was a joy to work with! She´d always be joking or laughing but when she´d get mad-the German words would fly! She´d always call me "Lucy"-inside joke!! I´ll miss sending her stuff on Facebook that I thought she´d like! rest in peace my friend!!
