Nancy Ellen (Abbott) Rodriguez, 87, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 13, 2025, at her home after a brief illness.

She was born August 10, 1937, in Dakota, West. Virginia, to Ernest and Dolly (Hawkinberry) Abbott.

Nancy graduated from Farmington High School in West Virginia and attended BGSU Firelands. She was employed at several positions throughout her life, including the Erie County Recorder's Office, and retired as an advocate at Serving Our Seniors after 15 years of service. Nancy was a member of Democratic Women's Club. She was an avid reader. She loved music, playing the piano and singing in church choirs. She also loved tending to her flower garden.

Nancy is survived by her children, Melanie Griffith of Oklahoma, Michael (Bill LaRoche) Beuglass of Sandusky, and Suzanne (James) Schoch of North Ridgeville; four grandchildren, Sara, Kristin, Joseph, and Lee; six great-grandchildren, Addison, Lucy, Anna, Greyson, Josey, and Cooper; siblings Linda (Ken) Shanes and Gary (Barbara) Abbott; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Eduardo Rodriguez this past October; and her brother, Thomas Abbott; and other relatives.

Cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Those wishing to contribute to Nancy's memory may do so to Serving Our Seniors or Stein Hospice.

Dearest Family Ridriguez and Abott; Nancy will be missed. Nancy is cousin my marrige. Eduardo was my cousin. Lovely couple they were. Sweet woman she was. I wiuld yalk to Nancy often when she call the community service office I worked at. Serving our Seniors had a treasured emolyee in Nancy. Receive the Garza family's condolences. May the joyous memories keep you strong during this difficult time. Long for the when people will say "Live without end at last"; here on Earth.

I worked with Nancy for a longtime. What a wonderful lady. She was a hard worker that always had a smile to brighten your day. She will be missed.
