Nancy Jean Wyneski, 72, a long-time resident of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, in Napa, California, where she had been living since 2018.
She was born May 24, 1950, to Kevin and Catherine (Coleman) McInerney.
Nancy graduated from St. Thomas Moore Elementary School, Nazareth Academy (High School), and University of Dayton with a major in education. Dedicated to helping others, she served her beloved community of Sandusky and Huron as an elementary school teacher, serving at Sts. Peter & Paul Elementary, St. Mary Central Catholic Elementary, and finally St. Peter School in Huron, where she spent the majority of her career.
Outside of having fun at work, Nancy loved traveling and visiting with her family. She also was fond of attending movies and going out to dinner with her husband and close friends. She had a love for dogs, especially Irish Setters. Nancy enjoyed attending Cleveland Browns games when she could, usually dressing up for the occasion to show her team spirit.
Nancy was lucky to have her soul-mate, Kenneth Wyneski, by her side for 42 years, prior to his passing in 2017.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristen Duncan of Napa, California, and her family, husband, Matt Duncan, and children, Kurt, Cassandra, and Brandt; son and family, Matt and Holly Wyneski of Wooster, and daughters, Megan and Allison; older sister, Katherine (Thomas) Burns of Munroe Falls; and multiple nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kevin and Catherine McInerney.
A private Catholic service and her interment will be Calvary Cemetery, 555 N. Ridge Road W., Lorain, Ohio, 44053.
