Paul J. Keller, 90, residing in Avon and formerly of Sandusky, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Avon Hospital Cleveland Clinic with his loving wife by his side.

Paul was born March 15, 1933, in Sandusky, to Edward J. and Mildred (Good) Keller.

Paul was a 1951 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Sandusky where he was a member of the 1950 undefeated basketball team. He was a veteran of U.S. Army who proudly served his country from 1953-1956. Paul worked at Cuna Mutual of WI for 25 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, VFW, and AMVETS, and loved to travel, especially with his family.

Paul is survived by his wife, Hazel (Smith) Keller, whom he married Jan. 25, 1997; daughter, Amy (James) Boling of Sandusky; son, David (Gerri) Keller of Wadsworth; stepsons, Kurt (Nicole) Heilmann of Port Clinton, Eric (Jennifer) Heilmann of Avon, and Matt (Kate) Heilmann of North Ridgeville; 12 grandchildren, Sarah (Ben) Heckman, Jennifer Boling, Gina (Nate Hummel) Keller, Nicole and Erin Keller, Grace, Gabbie, Emilee, Katie, Annie, Matthew, and Eli Heilmann; two great-grandchildren, Vivienne and Hannah Heckman; sister, Mary Ann Hager of Sandusky; brother, Richard Keller of Sandusky; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Keller; and sister-in-law, Joanne Keller.

Visitation for friends will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2023, until the time of Paul's funeral at 11 a.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Burial will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
