In the serene embrace of Kelleys Island, Paul Douglas Warner, a man of faith, love, and unparalleled craftsmanship, was called home by his Lord and Savior the 15th of October in the year of our Lord 2025. Born in Sandusky, the 5th of April in 1951, Paul was a beacon of light and strength to his family and friends.

Paul's early years were spent in the nurturing town of Castalia, Ohio, where he graduated from Margaretta High School in the year 1969. His hands, skilled and true, found their calling in the noble trade of construction. A skillful carpenter, Paul's artistry in finished wood was a testament to his meticulous nature. He was a jack of all trades, master of all, and the Warner household never knew the need of outside assistance, for Paul could mend and make whole all that was broken.

Bound in holy matrimony to his beloved wife, Pamela L. Kellogg Warner, Paul was a loving husband and a guiding star to his children, his elder son Dustin Paul Warner and his spouse, Kerlin; his daughters, Valeria and her husband, Carlos Molina, and his younger daughter, Victoria, of Flowery Branch, Georgia. His younger son, Seth Lawrence Warner, with his wife, Kata, and his children, Ariyah, Ana, Glade, and Ethyn of Sandusky. He always felt blessed by his grandchildren.

Paul's life was rich with the joy of angling alongside his sons, the quiet concentration of a golf swing, the laughter shared over a game of cards, as long as he could win. He hated to lose. He especially enjoyed the warmth of companionship on boating and fishing excursions and he was an avid reader. His talent also extended to the brewing of craft beer, an endeavor he lovingly undertook with his son. In every aspect of life, Paul's intelligence and handy nature shown through.

As a man of Christian faith, Paul lived a life that mirrored the love of Christ. He was grateful that God granted his carpentry talent enough to build his dream home and allowed him to find an everlasting peace on Kelleys Island. He called it Heaven on Earth. He enjoyed many mornings with his wife Pam, silently listening to the tranquility of birds singing or deer walking through the yard while having a cup of coffee.

Among the many interests that colored his life, Paul was known for his passion for swimming and the joy he found in the simple pleasure of being immersed in the waters of creation. His love for water, whether it was the tranquil surface of a lake or the bounding waves of the sea, spoke of a man who found peace in the natural world that the Lord had made. Paul's only regret was not seeing his grandchildren enough. He enjoyed their warm embraces and kisses, but they were spread too far apart and too few.

In remembrance of Paul, let us recall some of his greatest one-liners when asked, "How are you doing, Paul?" His replies were very consistent, even if he was going through a rough time. "I'm fine as frog hairs"...or "I'm still on this side of the grass!" Paul's quick wit and fervent responses always brought out a laugh. He may not be on this side of the grass, but we know he's still fine as frog hairs! Those that were closest to him might remember..."Boys a boys a boys"....often replying to an untimely windy day!

Paul Douglas Warner lived as he died, with dignity, surrounded by love, and secure in the faith that guides us all to our final rest. His memory shall be cherished, his legacy enduring like the steadfast oak, and his life celebrated as one well-lived in the eyes of God and man. Let us hold fast to the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the memories that bind us to him until we meet again in the glory of the world to come.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at noon Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, with the Rev. Philip Gardner officiating. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Kelleys Island Cemetery.
