Peter James Birmingham, 32, formerly of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at his home in Corona, California.

He was born Aug. 10, 1990, in Toledo, and was raised in Sandusky. He attended Perkins Schools through the 11th grade, completed his high school education in California, and graduated from the Art Institute of San Diego. He was a trained chef and a very talented amateur photographer. Peter loved life in California, especially sunsets over the Pacific and hiking in the mountains. He also loved animals. Naturally outgoing, he had a multitude of friends in all walks of life.

Peter is survived by his wife, the former Jessica Savage of Corona, California, whom he married Sept. 3, 2021; parents, the Rev. Paul A. and Ruth E. (Reed) Birmingham of Sandusky; sister, Rebecca Anne (Michael) Mihlbachler of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; aunt, Barb (Doug) Mehling of Put-in-Bay; three cousins, Darcy Good of Bay Village, Rebecca Mehling of Avon Lake, and Mark (Kristin) Mehling of New Albany; and three pets, Baby the husky, Nova the German shepherd, and Scrappy the mastiff, all of Corona, California.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dr. William E. and Betty Z. Birmingham of Sandusky; maternal grandparents, James A. and Pearl M. Reed of Michigan; aunt, Jane A. Reed of Dearborn, Michigan; and pet, Stella the German shepherd of Corona, California.

Memorial and burial arrangements are pending and will be announced at a later date.
