Prince Boyd Perdue, 103, of Sandusky, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at his residence.

He was born March 10, 1919, in Oakvale, West Virginia, to the late Charles and Bertie (Gordon) Perdue.

Prince served in U.S. Army during World War II as a medical technician 4th class. He was in the Battle of the Buldge, served under General George Patton, and received American Defense Service Medal and European African Middle Eastern Service Medal.

After his release from the Army, he met his wife, Cora Mageline Fleeman, to whom he was married to for 72 years.

Prince went to school to be a farmer, but after a few years, they moved to Ohio and he would work for Ford Motor Company in Lorain for 22 years.

He became a minister early in his life. God and family was always first in his life. Prince became a minister of the Church of God and preached most of his life. He also loved hunting, was a musician, enjoyed playing guitar and singing in the church.

He is survived by his children, Bonnie (Nick) Levine, Connie Smith, and Mike (Shelly) Perdue, all of Sandusky, and Harry (Carolyn) Perdue of Florida; daughter-in-law, Sheryl Perdue of Cincinnati; granddaughter and caregiver, Susie (James) Caudill; 15 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora (Fleeman) Perdue in 2018; parents; son, Larry Perdue; son-in-law, Jim Smith; grandson, Jerry Boyd Gilliam; brothers, Denver, Charles "Buddy," and Hank; and sister, Violet.

Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2022, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Harvey Studer will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870. Condolences may be made to the family by visiting toftfuneralhome.com.

Prayer´s to my friend Mike Perdue (Rock) and his wonderful wife (Shelly) and family. I was honored to meet Prince and enjoy a few of his many talents. Singing and playing his musical instruments to Christian music. You will be missed.
