Sandusky
Ralph D. Roth, 96, residing in Sandusky, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025, at Parkvue Health Care Center.
Ralph was born August 22, 1929, in Sandusky, to the late Charles and Henretta (Dipper) Roth.
Ralph was a 1949 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army who proudly served his country during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1986. Ralph was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of VFW No. 2529, American Legion Post No. 83, Sandusky Elks, I.A.B. Club and Orioles.
Ralph is survived by his daughter, Brenda S. (Drew) Westerhold of Sandusky; and his son, Jeffrey A. Roth of Sandusky; four grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Heagler) Roth, in December of 2000; son, Timothy L. Roth; brother, Charles A. Roth; and his sister, Mary Catherine Kifer.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday September 8, 2025, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, with Pastor Andrea Mericle officiating. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

I am saddened to see of cousin "Don" Roth's passing. Last time we talked was at a gas station in Sandusky, along Perkins Ave. Tomi and I were talking as I pumped gas in the car. In pulls Don, right next to my pump. To the point as always, he began to pump as well, when I said, "Hello Don". I saw a faint look of surprise without certain recognition. And then "Oh Dale, what are you doing here?" Tomi and I spent moments, too few, talking, catching up and the off we went. Don, never really gabby but always sincere and warm. I'll be in town next week but not in time for the funeral. When we would see Don, or Jr. or Mary Caterine, Mom would say "this is my favorite cousin", which ever was there at the time. I always got the sense that she would say that especially for Don. Sleep well, you are missed.
