Randy T. Griggs, 63, residing in Sandusky, passed away Monday, Dec. 25, 2023, at Cleveland Metro Health Center after a lengthy illness.
Randy was born Dec. 29, 1959, in Sandusky, to Thomas Griggs and Joan (Garvin) Killian.
Randy graduated from Sandusky High School in 1978. He was a welder, truck driver, and diesel mechanic. Randy was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Randy enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching sports (especially Cleveland teams and Ohio State), and spending time with his family and friends.
Randy is survived by his sons, Ryan (Abby) Griggs of Sandusky and Matthew (Sarah) Griggs of Bowling Green; stepdaughter, Andrea (Brandon) Blankenship of Bellevue; stepson, Michael Allison of Sandusky; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Sylvia) Griggs, Steven (Marlene) Griggs, Jeff Griggs, and Thomas (Cathy) Griggs; stepbrother, Art Killian; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Daniel Killian Sr.; sister, Julie Killian; and brother, Daniel Killian Jr.
Randy's celebration of life for friends and family will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky.

I am so sorry to see this. Randy was one of my favorites babysitting. I babysat the Griggs' boys when I was a teenager in the 60's; 5 days a week all day. And, I took all 5 boys to cedar point on the boat. I remember making them sit with me up front to make sure noone would try to jump overboard. LOL They were always so much fun. Sending prayers to the whole family.
