Randy Lou (Bromm) Simmons, 77, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday morning, March 4, 2026, at home after a lengthy illness.

Randy was born on August 19, 1948, in Sandusky, to the late Randall and Mary (Ranft) Bromm.

Randy graduated from Sandusky High School in the Class of 1966. She was employed by Periodical Publishers and Photo Journal Press, Best Products, Traveland Campground and she also proudly sold Avon Cosmetics for over 40 years. Randy dedicated much of her time to volunteering in her community. She volunteered with the Wightman-Wieber Kids Fest, the State Theatre, Margaretta High School, local voting polls, OCCL, the Boy Scouts of America, where she served as a Cub Master, and the Castalia Cold Creek Festival Committee.

Randy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dennis "Denny" Simmons, whom she married May 9, 1970. She is also survived by her son, Scott (Julie) Simmons; and her daughter, Amy (Doug) Thompson; grandchildren, Jacob, Andrew and Carter Thompson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Randy is preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Bromm.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2026, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, with Chaplain Tony Chwalek presiding. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky. Because she loved the beach and all things bright and beautiful, the family encourages guests to wear colors other than black in celebration of her life.
