Reba M. Mears, 91, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, October 29, 2025, at Providence Care Center in Sandusky.

She was born March 6, 1934, in Sevier County, Tennessee, to Clyde and Mamie (Williams) Davenport Sr. Reba came to Sandusky in 1953 and earned her cosmetology license. She also worked throughout her life as a seamstress and in retail sales.

Reba was known for her creativity and caring nature. She could often be found oil painting, sewing crafts, or cooking or baking her famous pies. Reba also enjoyed family time, traveling, concerts, and she especially loved all animals.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Mears and Lisa (Myron) Ransom; her grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Cheatham Shepard, Erica Cheatham, Christopher Cheatham, Michael B. Kaufman, Kevin Kaufman, and Sara (Kyle) Cordle; her nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; sisters, Marie Whaley, Ruth Houdeshell, and Ella Mae (Bob) Huskey; a brother, Dwight Davenport; her nieces and nephews; and her beloved rescue pup, "Munchie."

Reba was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clyde Davenport Jr.; and former husband, Michael Mears.

A private family celebration of life will take place in her honor.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Erie County Dog Pound, 2900 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 or Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.

Arrangements are entrusted to David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
