He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Christopher P. Smith (2012); a son-in-law, Tim Ahner; two sisters and a nephew.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited Wednesday morning, October 1, 2025, at 9:40 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Sts.
