Sandusky
Ricky Dean "Rick" Young, residing in Sandusky, passed away after a lengthy illness Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital.
He was born Aug. 29, 1954, in Sandusky, to Kenneth and Verna (Witt) Young.
Rick attended Margaretta High School. He worked beside his father in various gas stations around Sandusky including Certified and Phillips 66. He later became employed at BP in Castalia and retired from Venture Packaging. Rick enjoyed spending time with friends and family until his health deteriorated.
Rick is survived by his son, Chad (Leanne) Billman of Sandusky; grandchild, Emma "Emmitt" (Ainsley) Billman of Mansfield; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Tom Federkiel of Castalia; nephew, Timothy Federkiel of Fremont; and nieces, cousins, and other relatives. Special appreciation to Fay Martin for her kindness towards Rick.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother in infancy.
The family will be having a private ceremony at a later date.

Sorry for your loss. My husband and I delivered Meals through the Erie County Senior Center to Rick.
Rick and I went to Margaretta together. We will miss him.
