Robert V. Ensign, age 88, of Sandusky, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 16, 2024, in his residence.

He was born Jan. 22, 1936, in Tecumseh, Michigan, to parents Clifford and Gladys (Reed) Ensign. He served in the U.S. Army for over 21 years and was a member of VFW and American Legion. Robert worked for Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, for over 22 years as a food service manager. In his free time, Robert loved to watch Westerns on TV.

He is survived by his daughter, Sheila (Steve) Harkness; granddaughter Serena Edwards; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ensign; parents, Clifford and Gladys Ensign; granddaughter, Vanessa Market-Edwards; sister, Delores Lenartz; and brother, Richard "Dick" Ensign.

Burial will take place in the spring. Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of the arrangements.

Dear Sheila & Steve,
So Very Saddened to Hear of Bob's Passing. I Share Fond Memories of Bob & I working at OVH. A Wonderful Friend and Neighbor and Fellow Veteran. A Sad Day for many of us who knew Bob. Rest in Peace Dear Bob.
