Robert Eugene "Bob" King, 77, of Berlin Heights, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at home.

Bob was born Oct. 18, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio, and grew up in Parkersburg and Point Pleasant, West Virginia, graduating from Point Pleasant High School. He proudly enlisted and served in U.S Army in the 173rd Airborne as a Combat Medical Specialist from 1964-1967 in Okinawa, Japan, and Vietnam. Bob was a journeyman electrician and member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. His greatest ability was being a salesman for several dealerships in the area, including Nick Abraham and Kasper Toyota.

He is survived by his lifelong companion, Karen Walderzak; daughter, Kelly King Thompson; her husband, Harold M. Thompson Jr.; grandsons, Robert and William Thompson; and granddaughter, Alina Tomei Thompson. Bob was known as Papa Bob to Karen's daughters, Lynn Tallan (Mitch), Stephanie Dasher (Brad), and Wendy Dyer (Mike); and grandchildren, Aaron (Mackenzie), Alexi, Maddie (Julius), Greg, Patrick (Vi), Jenna (Andrew), Dom, and Jessica; and great-granddaughter, Lydia Mae. Bob will also be missed by special friends, Sue Missig, Jared Payne, Micky Corso, and many more.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Nicholas King; and mother, Katherine Elizabeth Scott.

In lieu of flowers, Kelly has requested that friends and family spend time doing something together to recognize the special people in their lives.

Private services will take place.
