Robert James "Bob" Kreimes, 78, of Sandusky, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.
He was born April 3, 1946, in Sandusky, to Donald and Evelyn (Merriam) Kreimes. Bob graduated from Sandusky High School in 1964. After graduating from high school, he joined the military where he served in U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He then went to Bowling Green State University on the GI Bill, earning his bachelor's degree, and then student taught at Perkins Public Schools.
He came back to the family business of Kreimes Cardinal Grocery in Sandusky.
Bob loved to be in nature with the animals, golfing, bowling, spending time in the store, and with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia (Wieber) Kreimes, to whom he was married 44 years; daughters, Tammy June Kreimes and Michelle Marie (Kreimes) Schmidt; grandchildren, Madison, Shawn, Donovan "Reed," and Mia; sisters, Dianne (Charles) Castle and Cheryl "Cher" (Chet) "Butch" (Kreimes) Sinwald; brother, Donald Lee "Deke" Kreimes; and uncle, George Kreimes.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for friends will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2024, until the time of Bob's funeral at 12 p.m. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial will take place at Ohio Veterans Home Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be the Alzheimer's Support Group or Parkinson's Disease.

On Monday Night golf league in the late '70's, he would tell me what I was doing wrong, but, only after we finished the round, eventually I got my handicap down close to his- which was always fun golfing against.

Wow a great man, he cared about his community, and it showed, always nice and willing to help. I stayed coming to the downtown staple store, where you are greatly missed. I wish the community could have supported you more and not have taken from you. They did not see your vision. Now you have to go across town to get some great products.
