It is with great sorrow and loving hearts that we announce the passing of Bob Ritz, 88, a proud member of the United States Air Force, a devoted family man, a spirit filled with joy and mischief, and a huge Browns and Buckeye fan! He passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, surrounded by the love of family.
Bob served in the Air Force with honor and dedication, cherishing the camaraderie and discipline of military life. Beyond his service, he brought laughter and light everywhere he went. Bob had a knack for creating unforgettable moments of joy and mischief that will be cherished forever.
He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, he would find from the greens of the golf course to the tranquil waters where he cast his fishing line. Never missing a Browns or Buckeye football game and traveling the world and sharing adventures with his family were among his greatest passions. Whether on the road, at home, or on the water, Bob's happiest moments were those spent surrounded by loved ones.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jean (née Miller); daughter, Kristine (Jim) Duke; son, Matthew (Christina) Ritz; a number of brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. A celebration of Bob's life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at Riddle Funeral Home in Vermilion. Friends and family are invited to come together to honor a life well-lived, filled with laughter, love, and endless memories.
Rest in peace, dad. Your laughter echoes on, your love remains, and your spirit soars higher than the skies you once served.
