Robert F. "Bob" Roth, 90, of Clyde, passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, at The Willows of Bellevue. Robert was born Aug. 24, 1932, in Reed Township, the son of the late Clement and Amelia (Brown) Roth.
Robert married Catherine Tiell on Sept. 15, 1956, at St. Nicholas Church in Frenchtown. She preceded him in death in 2012.
Robert graduated from Attica High School in 1951 and served his country in U.S. Army. He retired from Whirlpool in 1993. He was a member of Clyde St. Mary Catholic Church, volunteering and serving in various roles for church functions. He was a devoted caregiver, especially to his wife before her passing. He loved gardening, woodworking, traveling, polka music, and Cleveland Indians.
Robert is survived by his sons, Jerry (Mary Lou) Roth of Bellevue and David (Nancy) Roth of Clyde; daughters, Rosalyn (Andy) Schindley of Bellevue and Mary (Loren) Leidheiser of Lewis Center; grandchildren, Amy Roth, Luke Roth, Rob (Kristin) Roth, Brooke (Shawn) Griffin, Allison (Caleb) Wynbissinger, Ben (Shana) Schindley, Cory (Kelsey) Schindley, Brittney Leidheiser, and Nicholas Leidheiser; great-grandchildren, Brady, Emilia, Carlie, Leanna, Ezra, and Ada; brother, Paul E. Roth of Bellevue; sister-in-law, Joyce Tiell of New Riegel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Ann in infancy; and siblings, Walter (Marian) Roth, Marion (Betty) Roth, and Arthur Roth.
Friends will be received 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, Ohio, 43410, with a rosary being recited at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 609 Vine St, Clyde, Ohio, 43410. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Tiffin.
Memorial donations may be made in Robert's honor to the donor's favorite charity.
