Robert Leroy Tobey, 75, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023.

He was born in Sandusky to Gertrude A. Neidler and Floyd B. Tobey. Robert was a Vietnam veteran of U.S. Navy and was a retired member of Local 42 - Steamfitters and Pipefitters. He graduated from Sandusky High School. Robert enjoyed golfing, baseball, fishing, boating, watching his favorite sports teams, and just hanging out with his wife and son. He worshipped at Sandusky Baptist Temple.

Robert is survived by his wife, Kay Lynn Ferdinandsen Tobey; son, Jason Robert Tobey; daughters, Marla (Harold) Zickefoose, Heather (Dowzell) Swayngim, and Kelly (Chris) Hughes; sister, Jackie (James) Deemer; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he held dear to his heart.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude A. Neidler; father, Floyd B. Tobey; brother, James O'Day; and sister, Janet Walker.

Robert's celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Barrell House, Sandusky.

Contributions can be made in Robert's memory to St. Jude's Children Hospital.

Robert will be remembered as having a heart of gold, being very loved, and being very intelligent and talented.
