Robin Kristine "Binnie" (McCoy) Appell, 68, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday afternoon, Sept. 2, 2023, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.

Robin was born Feb. 25, 1955, in Royal Oak, Michigan, the daughter of William Norris and Marilyn Helen (Frey) McCoy. She was a 1973 graduate of Edison High School. Robin loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family will remember her for how she loved her music and spending time at their place on Middle Bass Island, and how she especially enjoyed watching and telling others about the different changes and phases of the moon at night. She was a member of Sandusky Orioles Club, Nest # 279.

Robin is survived by her children, Emily (Anthony) Vassallo and Benjamin Appell, both of Sandusky, and Kevin (Mackenzie) Appell of Lorain; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Savanna, Braden, Aislin, Lola, and Owen, and one on the way; siblings, Kevin McCoy, Nancy (Anthony) Dellisanti, Laurie (Russ) Logan, Molly (Tom) Jesberger, Danny (Mary) McCoy, and Tim (Sarah) McCoy; brother and sisters-in-law, Billy (Susan) Appell and Albert Appell; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 43 years, David B. Appell (February 15, 2023); grandson, Weston J. Vassallo; niece, Molly "Pee Wee" Flowers; and brother-in-law, Anthony "Tony" Dellisanti.

It was her wish to be cremated. Visitation for family and friends will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her name to her family.
