Roger Allen Ward, 55, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, Nov. 23, 2022, from an automobile accident.
Roger was born Oct. 2, 1967, in Sandusky, to the late Richard James and Glenda (Jordan) Ward.
Roger graduated from Sandusky High School in 1986. He was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic at Norfolk & Southern Railroad. Roger was an active member of Boy Scouts of America and had earned the honor of Eagle Scout. Roger loved drag racing. He enjoyed being at Norwalk Summit Motorsports Park under the team's name of No Frills Racing. He also enjoyed spending time with his niece and family.
Roger is survived by his sister, Jodie (Ward) Fox of Sandusky; aunts, Pam (Don) Keck of Columbus, Ohio, Cathy (Rick) Morgan of Florida, and Debra (Leo) Conner of Georgia; and niece, Julieanne "Val" Fox of Sandusky.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Richard and Rita Ward; maternal grandparents, Elmer and Edna Jordan; and aunt, Sylvia "Jean" Sizemore.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Roger's funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at the funeral home. Pastor Ken Hiser will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
