Roland L. Wahlers, 90, of Danbury, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Firelands Hospital in Sandusky. Roland was born September 4, 1935, in Danbury Twp. to Roland A. "Bud" and Gladys (Lynch) Wahlers. A lifelong Danbury Township resident, he was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead. He graduated from Lakeside High School and attended John Carroll and Bowling Green State University. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. His guard unit was activated twice. Roland was an accountant/material control analyst at Standard Products and Koch Aluminum, and he was previously the Administrator of Sandusky Moose Lodge No. 471. He was a lifelong farmer taking care of the family farm for years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton, serving on several ministries, including as an Eucharistic Minister. He was a life member of Knights of Columbus. He was an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 331 for over 40 years. He had been a member of Elks, Moose, Eagles, Danbury Athletic Boosters, American Legion and Marblehead V.F.W. He enjoyed sports, gardening, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include children, Robin (Kurt Wenzinger) Wahlers of Danbury, Patrick (Jane) Wahlers of Port Clinton; grandchildren, Amanda King, Cynthia (Matt) Leeland, and Kristen (Michael) Wood; great-grandchildren, Elise and Amelia; significant other, Joy Herman; and his special nieces and nephew.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Tim Wahlers; and twin sisters, Mary Roe and Katherine Pazder.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay St., Marblehead, OH 43440. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, Danbury, at the Wahler's Family Plot.
