Rose Marie (Scavio) Lombardy, 92, of Sandusky, passed away late Sunday afternoon, March 19, 2023, at her home after a lengthy illness.

Rose Marie was born July 29, 1930, in Sandusky, the daughter of Peter Aloyisus and Carmella "Minnie" (Caponi) Scavio. She attended and graduated from Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School and later graduated from Sandusky High School in 1949. Rose Marie married her soul mate, Don E. Lombardy Sr. on Aug. 16, 1949. Together, they owned and operated Lombardy Music Store for 44 years.

She was a life-time member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she helped out in many different ways, including by teaching religious education, working on funeral luncheons, and filling the candles in the church, to name a few. She also was a life-time member of V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post # 2529. Over the years, Rose Marie enjoyed spending time with her family by cooking for them, baking, and crocheting, as she made numerous items like hats and blankets for her family, friends, as well as donating many of the items to those at the hospital.

Rose Marie is survived by her children, Eric (Lisa) Lombardy of Sandusky, Donna Schrim of Naples, Florida, Pam (Dave) Beverly of Huron, Don S. (Teri) Lombardy Jr. of Marblehead, and Rick Lombardy of Sandusky; five grandchildren, Lauren, Catie, Rilea, Jovi, and Nicole; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 52 years, Donald E. "Don" Lombardy Sr., on May 2, 2001; son-in-law, Doug Schrim; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas L. (Marge) Scavio; and nephew, Thomas P. Scavio.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, with Fr. Monte Hoyles officiating. It was her wish to be cremated following Mass. Interment of her cremains will take place later at Calvary Cemetery Columbarium, Sandusky.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, Back To The Wild, P.O.
