Ruby E. (Wallis) Duncan, 91, residing in Sandusky, passed away Sunday afternoon, Oct. 27, 2024, at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Ruby was born May 15, 1933, in Salem, Missouri, to the late Ferman Wallis and Effie Mae Wallis-Bailey.
Ruby worked and retired after over 20 years of service at Food Town. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and American Legion Auxilary for over 20 years. She enjoyed bingo, going to the casino, puzzles but most importantly spending time with her family, friends and fur babies.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Donna Sue (Timothy) Capizzi of Sandusky; sons, Oscar E. Duncan of Amherst and James H. Duncan of Bayview; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by husband, Howard R. Duncan in 1999; son, Roy Lee Duncan; daughter, Deborah Davis; daughter-in-law, Janet Duncan; four brothers, Emmett Tobin, Ernest Tobin, Thomas Pogue and Amos Pogue; two sisters, Bertha McAllister and Mildred Browning.
Friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of service Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory - Huron Chapel, 2602 Bogart Road, Huron, Ohio 44839. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park in Huron.

My sincere condolences to your family on the loss of Ruby. She was my mother's roommate at Providence Care for a short time prior to my mother's passing. She was a wonderful lady and tried so hard to "take care" of my mother. When I stayed the night to be with my mother toward the end she was always worrying about me sleeping in her chair and kept insisted I take her bed and obviously I didn't but during the night she covered me with a blanket because she thought I was cold I very much enjoyed knowing her the short time my mom was there. I've often thought of her since my mom passed. She was a sweet, sweet soul and just as cute as could be
