Ruth Elizabeth (Albert) Brown Badila, 80, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, at Firelands Regional Medical Center.

Ruth was born May 18, 1943, in Sandusky, to Myrland C. and Elnora R. (Boerger) Albert.

Ruth graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1961. She was employed at Periodical Publishers and then retired from Firelands Regional Medical Center after 32 years of service in registration and as a switchboard operator. Ruth was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, going out for girls night with her elementary school friends every other month, and spending time with her family and friends. Ruth's greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her sons, David M. (Tammy) Brown of Sandusky and Jim A. (Judy) Brown of Carlisle Township; three stepdaughters, Kelly Reid of Huron, Karen (Thomas) Koba of Huron, and Shanna Badila of Vermilion; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Bond of Sandusky; brother, Ralph (Lois) Albert of Sandusky; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Larry J. Brown in 1988; second husband, Paul Badila Jr. in 2004; and brother-in-law, Howard Bond in 2012.

Visitation for friends will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
