Ruth Francis Kennedy, 96, residing in Sandusky, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at The Meadows at Osborn Park.
Ruth was born December 4, 1928, in Sandusky to the late Sylvan and Helene (Hohler) Strickfaden.
Ruth graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1946. She worked at various jobs throughout her life, including Providence Hospital, Esmond Dairy, 22 years in the offices of the former New Departure Hyatt, and was a legal secretary for Wilbert Schwerer and Walt Wagner. Ruth was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed volunteering in many different activities at church and the bereavement committee, she also enjoyed bowling, golf, playing bridge and spending time with her family and friends but especially her grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Diane Debo of Monclova and Karen Frye of Huron; and son, Michael (Gisela) Kennedy of Powell; 11 grandchildren, Chad, Chelsea, Hunter, Reed, Isabella, Dominic, Dylan, Makenna, Brody, Ariella and Elissa; two great-grandchildren and one more on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Gene H. Kennedy in 1998; two sisters, Anne Guendelsberger and Agnes Strickfaden; three brothers, Paul, John, and Charles Strickfaden; one granddaughter in infancy, Autumn Debo; and son-in-law, Largo Frye.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, with a luncheon to follow in the parish hall.

So sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. In fact I was just thinking of her the other day and was going to call her. She was the last of my cousins.
