Sarah Dinder Obituary

Sarah Elizabeth "Sally" Dinder

Jul 1, 1921 - Sep 2, 2023

Sarasota

Sarah Brown (Poplstein, Dinder), 102, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023.

Sarah "Sally" was born July 1, 1921, on Put-In-Bay, and graduated from Put-In-Bay High School in 1940. Sally's family immigrated from Ireland in 1883 and settled on North Bass Island as grape growers.

Sally is one of four siblings. She eventually married and settled in Sandusky. Her sons graduated from Sandusky High School and Sally worked in retail at Gail's Woman's World in Sandusky. After retiring in 1986, Sally eventually moved to Florida to be with family. Her favorite things to do were to play bingo and fish in Tampa Bay. She always carried a buckeye from Ohio in her purse for good luck charm.

Sally enjoyed her childhood on Put-In-Bay and made several visits over the years. Put-In-Bay will be her final resting place.

Sally is survived by her sons, Richard Poplstein (Lisa) and Robert Poplstein (Pam); grandchildren, Karlynda Snell (Cedric), Terra Poplstein (Tim), and Shannon Mayberry (Blake); and great-grandson, Willian Mayberry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sally's memory can be made to Put-In-Bay Episcopal Church.

Sally was a very special person in my families life. My deceased daughter called her her adopted grandma. She and Al were special adopted grandparents to my daughters. My 2nd daughter was named after her, Sarah
