Steve Sadler Obituary

Steve Sadler

Apr 15, 1957 - Nov 14, 2023

Franklin, TN

Steve Sadler, beloved husband, passionate writer, and marketing professional passed away at the age of 66 in Franklin, Tennessee.

Steve was born in Norwalk and graduated from St. Paul's Catholic School in 1975. He was a proud alumnus of Bowling Green State University. Steve, AKA Falconbro, earned his BA in Journalism. He had a passion for college football, always cheering on his favorite Falcon teams.

After graduating from BGSU, Steve began his career in journalism as a sports writer for Sandusky Register. In 1986, he and Laura relocated to Chicago, Illinois, where Steve began work in sales and marketing. After building a life in Chicago filled with cherished friends, a love of music and retirement took them to Franklin, Tennessee.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Steve will be remembered for his kind spirit, quick wit, and his debates on sports and music.

Steve shared 41 years of marriage with his wife, Laura. Their enduring love and partnership were a source of inspiration to all who had the privilege of witnessing their bond.

In addition to his loving wife, Steve leaves behind three sisters, Cheryl (Ed) Murphy, Denise (Kevin) Trares, and Julie Sadler (Tony); mother-in-law, Shirley Schmuhl; brothers-in-law, Matthew (Gayle) Schmuhl and Tom (Laurie) Schmuhl; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Schmuhl; nephews, Matthew (Tricia) Gockstetter, Jeffrey (Ashley) Gockstetter, and Timothy, Daniel, and Kenneth Schmuhl (Megan); two nieces, Margaret Schmuhl (Bradley Parcella) and Catherine Schmuhl; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Vivian Sadler; and father-in-law, Alvin Schmuhl.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Wounded Warriors Project (woundedwarriorproject.org) or Paws Chicago (pawschicago.org).

Steve's celebration of life will be in spring, 2024.

May Steve's soul rest in peace and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to those who mourn his passing.

We always enjoyed the visits from Steve and Laura rather Toledo or Chicago. The the man in black as I called him was always with a smile and was always a gentleman. Have fond memories always.
