It was evident in the short time I knew Sue that she was a kind, caring woman. Shortly after I moved to the neighborhood, I was headed to Goodwill with items loaded onto my backseat, most of which happened to be breakable items. When I stopped at the end of our street, the items shifted. I hopped out of my car and opened the back car door with the intention to redistribute the items to prevent them from breaking. Instead, everything fell out onto the street and broke. I was attempting to clean up the mess on the street (with my car still running but stopped at the stop sign), when Sue came upon me. I thought it might be someone who would be irritated that I was stopped there too long. No, Sue wanted to see if I was okay and asked if I needed any help. Judging by what others have written about Sue, I believe that was true to her nature, offering to help a virtual stranger. She will be missed.

Have not seen Susan since graduation day which was 5/30/54 but always thought the world of her. She and I used to laugh about a sketch I wrote for a pep rally--her character pitched a cosmetic called Aunt Jezebel's Facial Cream (have now idea how I came up with that one) but she was hilarious in the part and we continuously laughed about it. Rest in Peace, Dear Friend, you were a joy to know....

Sue was such a loving person who was a joy to be around. Despite her small size, she was a firecracker and kept us all laughing. She will be greatly missed by all of her P.E.O. Sisters.

Deepest sympathy. We loved talking to Sue while she was working at the gate on the beach. She and her two friends that work there were always so friendly and nice. Will sure miss her.

I am so saddened to hear of Sue's passing. She truly was a classy lady and I loved working with her at SCCS. May the angels greet her and welcome her to paradise. May you rest in peace my dear. And may God wrap your family in his arms as they walk this valley.
