Susan Star Miller (nee Marshall), 64, of Norwalk, began her eternal rest Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at her home surrounded by family and loved ones, after a hard fought battle with multiple ailments.

Our mom was born December 13, 1958, in Sandusky, OH and has been a Norwalk resident for the past two years after returning home from Trenton, OH and previously Lorain, OH.

She graduated from Edison High School and had worked at the Vermilion School Bussing System, as a Bus Monitor for eight years, and most recently as Shift Lead at Convenient Food Mart, Amherst.

She was former member of First Baptist Church of Birmingham. She had a zest for life that included caring for others that made impacts on many far and wide. She was an avid baker and chocolatier and enjoyed sharing with friends and loved ones. She frequented many restaurants as she loved dining out with friends and family and shopping for unique finds. She enjoyed gardening, nature, especially her owl collection, spending time with her family reminiscing and playing games, like YAHTZEE and UNO.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Keith) Hackney of Dunnellon, FL; sons, Jesse (Jen) Miller of Ruther Glen, VA, and Joshua (Teresa) Miller of Trenton, OH; step-daughter, Linda Kingseed of Norwalk; step-sons, Earl (Sharon) Miller, Jr. of Sandusky and James (Rhonda) Miller of Huron, OH; three granddaughters, Reana Lynn, Autumn Faye, and Shannon Alexis, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; brothers, James (Sandy) Marshall of St. Johns, FL, Raymond (Cindy) Marshall of Sandusky, Rhett (Shelia) Marshall of Berlin Heights, and Hudson Marshall of Norwalk; sisters, Scarlett Kowpak of New London, and Sunday (Ian) Wallace of Milan; as well as several loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her soul mate and husband, Earl Miller Sr in 1994; parents James Earl and Judith (nee Forrester) Marshall; step-daughter, Kathy Newcomer; and her sister, Sari Fowles.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 23rd, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Private inurnment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
