Terry Herold, 63, of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022.

He was born Nov. 18, 1958, in Sandusky and attended EHOVE Joint Vocational Center while attending Western Reserve High School, graduating in 1977. He began his career as a welder and working road construction for many years. Later, he started working for Continental Airlines in 1991 in Facility Maintenance and retired after 29 years of service after the merger with United Airlines in 2020. He was a member of Teamsters Local Union # 964 and St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Strongsville. Terry enjoyed being with his family, dirt biking, welding, ATVing, and building anything he could.

It was often thought that if you were left on a desert island, he was the one that everyone would want to be with. He was a "MacGyver," a modern-day Renaissance Man. His favorite John Wayne quote was "Courage is being scared to death and saddling up anyway." He was generous and kind, always willing to help others no matter what, and loved his family dearly. His family will miss his strength, kindness, courage, ability to read people and situations quickly, sense of humor, dadisms (simmer down now, yokavo) and especially his fine example of how to be a good person and love fiercely because family was everything!

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Jeanne (nee Langjahr) Herold; two daughters, Dr. Jennifer Marie Herold, OTD,OTR/L and her husband, Robert Jarowski, and Julie Clarisse Herold, and her son, Tyler Joseph Herold; four grandchildren, Bryce Matthew Herold, Benjamin Joseph Herold Jarowski, Alexander Tyler Herold Jarowski, and Isabelle Marie Herold Jarowski; brother, Jeff (Laurie) Herold of Sandusky; four brothers-in-law, Carl Langjahr of Thailand, David (Melanie) Langjahr of Norwalk, Michael (Yvonne) Langjahr of Athens, Tennessee, and Allen (Tammy Case) Langjahr of Sparta, New York; several godchildren; various cousins, nieces, and nephews; very cherished cousin, Julie Pickworth Schueller and her husband, Michael Schueller; and loving friends who are like family.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Herold and Twila Heitsche Herold.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2022, at St. John Neumann Church, 16271 Pearl Rd., Strongsville. Interment will be at Strongsville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at A. RIPEPI AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 Badley Rd., Middleburg Heights (west of I-71).
