Theodore George Grys Jr., 88, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born Dec. 5, 1936, in Strongsville to the late Theodore Sr. and Mamie (Urbanik) Grys. He was a 1955 graduate of Townsend Wakeman High School and served 23 years in the Army National Guard as a Sergeant First Class in Norwalk. He was the former owner and operator of Lone Elm Inn. He worked for over 50 years with Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 23 in Ohio and was an active member of Norwalk VFW Post 2743, American Legion Post 41, and Norwalk Eagles Aerie 711. He enjoyed spending time with his family and camping on the family farm.
He is survived by his brother, Roger Grys of Florida; children, Ted J. Grys of Norwalk, Timothy (Allison) Grys of New London and Theresa (Mike) Scheiber of Indiana; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Grys of Norwalk; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a nephew.
Arrangements entrusted to Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
Memorial contributions in Theodore's name may be sent to VFW, Eagles or American Legion.
