Thirkee Barron Jr., age 63, gained his wings peacefully Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024, in Columbus.

He was born Oct. 15, 1961, to Anna and Thirkee Barron Sr. in Sandusky.

Thirkee was a proud member of the U.S. Air Force. A Los Angeles Laker fan, and a Pittsburgh Steelers six-time Champions reminder every season. Thirkee was also a self-professed professional fisherman who could catch any fish species in Lake Erie.

He is survived by his daughter, Niya Bellane Barron; sister, Yvette (Luther) Henson of Columbus; brother, Steven (Shasta) Brown of Sandusky. Thirkee loved being a Pa Pa to his grandchildren, Isis, Jade, Evan, Isiah, Xavier, Jaden, and Neveah; great-grandchildren, Jacari and Jacas; and a host of beloved nephews, nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Thirkee was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Barbara (Barb) Barron; daughter Vanessa Barron; sisters, Mary Ann Wilson ( Nuby) and LaVerne Barron.

His Rappy's services will be Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, at Porters Memorial CME Church, 1723 Third St. Sandusky. The viewing will be 10 a.m. until his homegoing service begins at 12 p.m. Burial with military rites will immediately follow in Oakland Cemetery. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling the arrangements.
